Surveying the relationship between Liquidity, Corporate Governance and the Value of Public Companies in Tehran Stock Exchange

Abstract

For the purpose of economic decision making
, investors rely on quantity, quality and timeliness of disclosed information by corporations. Well-structured and well-organized corporate governance could play a great role in directing investors' decision making and creating a highly liquid capital market. Accordingly, in this research, using panel data method for cross-section-time series (CSTS) data, we survey the relationship between liquidity, corporate governance and the value of public companies in Tehran Stock Exchange, for 92 companies from 2002 to 2011. Results showed that increase in liquidity level causes an increase in corporate value, and through promoting corporate governance, liquidity level causes an increase in enterprise's value.
